TIPS AND IDEAS |
Walk season is fast approaching and we all need to decide how to raise money this year. If you have been a member of JDRF for a while then you have surely written at least one letter that you have sent out to your friends and family. My family has written 6 letters over the years, but this year we wanted to come up with something new. So, Melissa and I wrote the Type 1 Mom’s Song and created a video. I am using the Type 1 Mom's Song as my "letter" campaign this year. The response has been tremendous!

For those friends and family that live close to you, why not throw a little party? Every year our cul-de-sac has a St. Patrick’s Day party and on the invitation the guests are asked to bring a donation for JDRF. At the party we set up a table that is decorated with JDRF logo’s and walk shoes. The table has pictures of our girls and thank you letters, written by the girls, for the donations. We place a collection box on the table for the money to go into. The party is always festive and fun. St. Pat’s in the Circle quickly became a tradition, and it allows us to gather all the local donations at one time.

PRODUCT UPDATES |
The winds of good fortune must be blowing in our direction. The boxer brief samples, one in every size, arrived in February and the sizing was perfect! Our manufacturer slightly modified the pockets from our original samples so we did have to work out the details of getting the exact pocket we approved on our upcoming production run. The green light has been given to our manufacturer and we should be taking delivery on the boxer briefs, boys and mens, by mid March. It has been a long road, but those of you waiting on these briefs will be pleased.
During the process of finalizing the boxer briefs, we made the decision to add a boy's XS to our available sizes. Since we outlined the sizes we were going to produce, we received several emails from moms with young boys that want our product too. We appreciate your input and have listened. The XS boy's brief will fit boys in size 4/5.

Type 1 Parents
This month: www.Type1Parents.org This is a newer online community. Type 1 Parents is a community for Parents with Diabetic kids. Their goal is to be more than your typical support group you find on the net. They not only support their members, but also give them a place to be themselves to discuss a variety of topics. Stop by their website and see if this group is right for you.
